GIF to MP4 Converter

Turn a GIF into a silent MP4 video on your device. Choose how many times it plays, set a maximum width and fill transparent areas with a solid color. Free, without an account or added watermark.

Positive frame delays are preserved. Missing or zero delays use 0.1 seconds. Transparent areas use your background color.

GIF input: up to 50 MiB. Output: up to 60 seconds. Original size is preserved unless reduced; portrait height is limited to 1280 px. MP4 has no audio.

How to convert a GIF to MP4

  1. Select your GIF. Choose a local file or drop it into the tool. Check the original dimensions and one-play duration.
  2. Set width, plays and background. The planned MP4 dimensions and total duration appear before conversion. Choose a color that suits any transparent edges.
  3. Convert and review. Keep the tab open while processing. Play the finished MP4 to check motion, background and the end of the last repeat.
  4. Download the result. Save the file before leaving. Changing a setting clears the old result; convert again to see the new version.

Example: turn a product animation into a six-second clip

For a two-second GIF, choose three plays to produce a six-second video. If the product sits on transparency, choose the intended page or slide color as its background. Check the export before placing it in a presentation or uploading it; conversion does not verify a platform’s duration or dimension requirements.

For the reverse conversion, use Video to GIF. To repeat an existing MP4, use Loop Video. For a still-image video, try Image to Video. You can compress the MP4 afterward or browse all free tools.

GIF to MP4 questions

Is conversion free, and is my GIF uploaded?

Conversion and download are free without an account or added watermark. Processing runs locally in your browser. The page downloads processing libraries, but does not upload your GIF.

Can I convert animated and static GIFs?

Yes. A valid one-frame GIF produces a still video, not new motion. Input is limited to 50 MiB, 600 source frames and 60 seconds per complete play. Source-resolution and processing-workload limits also apply.

Will the MP4 loop forever?

No. Choose 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 complete plays, with a total of at most 60 seconds. These repeats become part of a finite video. Continuous playback depends on your player or website settings.

What happens to transparent areas?

This MP4 export is opaque. Transparent pixels use your chosen background color, white by default. This fills transparency; it does not remove or replace an opaque background already in the GIF.

Does the animation keep its timing?

Positive GIF frame delays are retained, including unequal frame lengths. Missing or zero delays become 0.1 seconds per frame. Changing the play count repeats the animation rather than speeding it up.

Can I choose the output resolution?

Maximum width choices are 320, 640, 960 and 1280 pixels. Content is not enlarged, and height is capped at 1280 pixels. The output frame may gain a pixel at an edge to use even dimensions; check the displayed size.

Will conversion always make a smaller file?

No. Size depends on the source, width, repeats and encoding. The result shows its actual size and must stay within 100 MiB. Lower width or fewer repeats can help with processing limits.

Will the converted video contain sound?

No. A GIF has no audio track and this converter exports silent H.264 MP4 video.
